Resolved Question: Company laid me off out of state?

I am a commercial truck driver and drive for werner enterprises I was just laid off at a terminal in indianapolis, Indiana but I live in grants pass, Oregon I was hired in Fontana, California I have myself my wife and my dog they offered to pay for a bus ticket but since I have my dog I can't do that because they don't allow dogs on buses we also have all of our stuff like clothes mini fridge and other things for the road my question is can they legally fire me 2300 miles away from home?
